Saturday's event, though small in comparison to the crazy "Earth Day" demonstration, was equally powerful, and every bit as challenging.
The first thing that happened was a Memorial Mass at the Mission Viejo Planned Parenthood clinic at 9:30a. We also had 2 counter protesters that Shannon was able to minister to for forty minutes. Bishop Kessler and Father Steve were present for CEC for Life of the West.
What we realized while we held our signs out there for life this Saturday was that 85% of the people coming by were for us. We got many people saying such things as "Thank you for being here", "Thank you for standing for women's rights", etc. About 15% had derogatory statements to say against us. Not that this is any consolation that there is 85% vs. 15%, it's that we still have not won anything, being the majority.
Don't let the 15% of those screaming the lie of choice be heard over the 85%, the majority, who are for life! Mothers and fathers are killing their children under the lie of choice. Let your light shine to expose the darkness of the lie.
The very scriptures for Saturday, May 7th, were John 3:17, which says,"But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? My little children, let us not love in word or tongue, but in deed and in truth."
