I wanted to share an update with those of you who have been following and praying for my son Kit, and daughter-in-law, Bre, and the twins in her womb. Sunday morning at 6:00 A.M. Bre was rushing into surgery.  She had developed terrible pain and was bleeding once again; and was rushed back to the hospital at 11:00 P.M. the night before.

After spending days in the hospital a week earlier with internal bleeding and frequent violent contractions, the doctors had let her go home for several days and she seemed to be doing better.  As she was carrying twin boys and not due till mid July, every day was incredibly important.  I was told that each day in the womb saves up to a week in an incubator setting.

Well, God has his perfect timing and although it was a nail biting, scary adventure, all parties survived and are doing well.  Being closely monitored during the night, the babies appeared to go into distress at 5:45 Sunday morning.  With not a moment to spare, a surgery team was assembled and at 6 AM Bre was raced though the operating room door.  First, they got the twins out.  The first was 4lbs. 3 ounces, the second 3lbs. 8 ounces (probably from being squished by his brother).  Next they searched and searched for the bleeding.  Bre came out of surgery at about 9:00 A.M.

Today, Kit and Bre are proud parents of two wonderful boys who are in baby ICU at CHOC, reported to be doing fine.  Bre was put in adult ICU and also dong fine, although as one can imagine she’s in a lot of pain and discomfort.  We are so incredible proud of Bre for her courage and tenacity.  She continually put those boys lives first, and chose to put herself last, often dangerously.  I saw first hand the natural way of God.  So deeply placed in the mother, by God, is this saving concern and love for her children.  I will never forget watching in amazement, and often concern, seeing first hand in this mother such self sacrifice that could only come from God himself.

The one extra week she gave her children inside her in spite of uncontrollable pain and suffering gave them a better chance to make it into this world.  And they did make it.  Although their first 4 to 6 weeks will be in the hospital, they are here, alive and well.  I will remind them often and make sure they never forget how their mom cared for them so dearly, even at her risk.  What love!  These are Pro-Life people.

Thank you all for your wonderful prayers.  We all thank the Lord Jesus Christ for his divine favor in our lives.  +Bishop Doug and Karen
