Most all religions of the world indicate that to be humble is a good and better virtue then being prideful and arrogant. Humility is the ability to live in the moment and not see yourself at center stage.  Our celebrity culture in America does not promote humility, it rather promotes Andy Warhol's "15 minutes of fame."  We are all stars, no publicity is bad etc.

The interesting thing I have observed in many years of ministering and hanging out with other Christians is how little we understand how much humility pleases God.  I have seen evangelists, pastor's, priests, bishops, prophets, musicians and board members get full of themselves and exhibit spiritual pride. I have seen "intercessors" inflated with their own importance; tither’s treat pastors like hired hands; and different denominations or non-denominational groups ridicule each other.  Pride is at the core of all sin, in and out of the church.

Humility opens for us the hand of God to bless us.  Jesus said many times, "He who exalts himself will be humbled, He who humbles himself will be exalted. "  A church humble, that "does not think more highly of itself than they ought" brings pleasure to our Heavenly Father, expands their relationships with others, and opens the door for fruitful living. Humility is so beautiful to the Lord in His church. It has been a joy to witness humility in the Church as well.

I am just a "most humble" brother reflecting here.
